Thirty Brothers and Sisters of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary gathered for “gaudeamus” time (“let us rejoice” with cocktails and pupus) Sept. 29 in Mother Alexandrine Hall at St. Anthony Retreat Center in Kalihi Valley. The reason was to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the site which first opened as an orphanage in 1909, founded by Bishop Liebert Boeynaems and Mother Alexandrine Delsol.
