Pauline Media book based on mystic’s talks with Jesus

09/18/2019 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Honolulu’s Pauline Book and Media Center announces the release of a special devotional book, “Jesus Speaking: Heart to Heart with the King,” with passages from the spiritual classic, “He and I,” a book based on conversations French mystic Gabrielle Bossis had with Jesus.

The new book, organized as daily reflections, includes Scripture passages complementing every excerpt from the original book, along with a meditation on that day’s reading.

Bossis’ intimate conversations with Christ are instructive as well as inspirational, according to the Pauline Book and Media Center’s release on the book. “Jesus Speaking” is an invaluable guide for anyone looking for growth in the spiritual life. It encourages the reader to cultivate a daily habit of prayer and a personal relationship with Christ through the church.

Here is a sample quote attributed to Jesus: “As you look back over your life, don’t you see that my will was always for your good? This is because I love you and it’s the same for everyone, since I love each of you individually.”

Born and raised in France, Gabrielle Bossis (1874-1950) was a single woman and a nurse during World War I. In her later years she became a playwright and touring artist. Known by friends and acquaintances for her vivacious personality and infectious laughter, her journals revealed a rich spiritual life. The original French edition of “Lui et Moi” has been translated into several languages and sold worldwide.

The 416-page book is edited by Sister Maria Grace Dateno of the Daughters of St. Paul. It costs $24.95.
