Photo: evangelizers

08/07/2019 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

The communities of the Neocatechumenal Way at St. John the Baptist Parish in Kalihi participated in the worldwide Great Mission on each Sunday afternoon during the season of Easter. They set up chairs, a platform and speaker on the front lawn of the parish as a way of evangelizing — announcing the Good News of salvation to believers and non-believers. They began each session with a procession through the parish neighborhood led by a large cross while singing songs and inviting people along the way. They especially reached out to those who have wandered far away from the church and who, without being invited, may never come back. Weekly catechesis continues in the school’s classroom 3-4 p.m. on Sundays. Call 721-0557 for more information. (Photo courtesy of Bertha Guerrero)
