Photos: Feast of our patroness of peace

07/25/2019 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Above, Bishop Larry Silva blesses with incense the statue of Our Lady of Peace outside the cathedral basilica that bears her name July 9 after a Mass inside the church celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Peace. Mary, under the title of Our Lady of Peace, is the patroness of the Diocese of Honolulu. The building in the back is the diocesan chancery. She is also the patroness of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, the French order that brought the Catholic faith to Hawaii. Her statue, left, is covered with leis for her celebration. (Photos courtesy of Dann Ebina)
