Announcements/Appointments

  • In consultation with Very Reverend Herman Gomes, SS.CC., Provincial Superior of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in the United States, Bishop Silva has entrusted the pastoral care of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Pearl City to the Sacred Hearts Community, effective July 1, 2019.
  • Very Reverend Herman Gomes has appointed, and Bishop Silva has confirmed the following, effective July 1, 2019:
    • Reverend Santhosh Thottankara, SS.CC., as Pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Pearl City.
    • Reverend Joseph Pasala, SS.CC., as Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Pearl City.
  • Bishop Silva has made the following appointments, effective July 1, 2019:
    • Reverend Noé Acosta as Parochial Vicar of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Kailua-Kona.
    • Reverend Moses Akebule to Diocesan Hospital Ministry.
    • Reverend Clement Beeri as Parochial Vicar of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Honolulu.
    • Reverend Ornoldo Cherrez as Chaplain of the Maui Hispanic Community.
    • Reverend Siegfried Dosdos as Administrator of St. Benedict Parish, Honaunau, with its mission of St. John the Baptist, Kealakekua.
    • Reverend Anthony Pangan, SSS, as Parochial Vicar of Sacred Heart Parish, Punahou and its Maryknoll School.
    • Reverend Diego Restrepo as Administrator of St. John the Baptist Parish.
  • The Board of Directors of the Catholic Women’s Guild has announced the dissolution of the Guild after serving the Catholic Church in Hawaii since 1859. We thank them for all their support and generosity over the 160 years of their service.
  • The diocesan offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2019 in observance of Memorial Day.
