Do you know a couple who has been married a long, long, long, long time?

Worldwide Marriage Encounter is looking to honor them for their matrimonial longevity.

The international marriage enrichment movement is accepting nominations for the 2019 Longest Married Couple Project.

Nominations can be made by going to the website wwme.org and clicking on “Nominate Today” in the upper right of the home page. Nominations being accepted until May 15.

National and state winners will be recognized in June, Marriage Month. This is the honor’s ninth year.

Past national winners were married 78 to 82 years at the time of their award presentation. Hawaii state winners have been married 50, 60 or 70-plus years.

Winners of the Longest Married Couple project are selected solely from nominations submitted.

Hawaii state winners last year, at 68 years, were Sotero and Caridad Ragasa of St. Elizabeth Parish in Aiea. In a story last year in the Hawaii Catholic Herald, Sotero gave all the credit for their long marriage to his wife, who he said prays the rosary daily.

Anyone can nominate a couple. For more information, contact Fred or Donna Ventura at (808) 298-4241.
