Well Guarded – The Most Reverend John J. Scanlan, Bishop of Honolulu, offered the noon-day Mass on Easter Sunday at Our Lady of Peace Cathedral. The Easter Mass was enhanced by the presence of four Knights of St. Sylvester, a papal order of knights ancient in time and rich in tradition, and by the large group of Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, an American fraternal group of dedicated Catholic men. The presence of these various knights emphasize the solemnity of the occasion, the Feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord. (Photo by Ted Wexler)

The earliest the U.S. bishops will discuss the issue would probably be at their annual November meeting, Bishop DiLorenzo said.

The event was called Cross Walk, thought up this year by Dominic Olaso, a member of the Diocese of Honolulu’s Youth and Young Adult Board.
