Hawaii Cursillo to host Asia-Pacific group ‘Encounter’

04/17/2019 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

The Cursillos of Hawaii is hosting the 22nd Regional Encounter of the Asia Pacific Group of the Cursillo Movement at St. Anthony Retreat Center in Kalihi Valley, Thursday through Sunday, April 25-28. The theme is “Pilgrims of the Twenty-First Century.”

The Encounter will begin with Mass at 4:30 p.m. on April 25.

Bishop Larry Silva will celebrate Friday’s Mass at 4:30 p.m. and give the homily.

Cursillo leaders and delegates from across the Asia-Pacific region are expected to attend. Making a special visit will be two members from Organismo Mundial de Cursillos de Cristianidad (OMCC), the world body of the Cursillo movement. They are OMCC president Juan Adolfo Moguel Ortiz and OMCC spiritual advisor Bishop Faustino Armendariz Jimenez of Queretaro, Mexico.

Keynote talks will address aspects of the charism of the Cursillo Movement, followed by discussion and sharing.

The Encounter will be a celebration of all that the movement offers to the church in terms of evangelization, personal renewal and ongoing faith formation, and witnessing to Jesus in spreading the Good News in our daily lives. “De colores!”

For schedule information and to register, please call Molly Anguay at 808-429-6873.
