Members of the Knights of Columbus Council 6302 at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Wahiawa prepared malassadas on Fat Tuesday, March 5, as a fundraiser for the parish youth group. Beginning at 5 a.m., they deep fried more than 166 dozen of the special treats for parishioners to enjoy before the start of the Lenten season. The Knights were assisted by Misty Abalos, Trudy Algoso, Valerie Dascil-Tago, Colleen Okashige and Andrea Velasco. Parish youth came out after school to help with parishioner pick-up.
