The diocesan Mass for the World Day of the Sick, 6 p.m., Feb. 11, in the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace in Honolulu will include the administration of the sacrament of the anointing of the sick for those seriously ill. Bishop Larry Silva will preside.

The anointing of the sick is a sacrament offered to Catholics who are dangerously ill due to disease, injury or old age. It may also be received by those with serious mental or emotional illness as well.

Recipients of the anointing should not be excessively concerned about the degree of seriousness of their condition, nevertheless, the casual participant in the sacrament must be avoided in good conscience.

The cathedral offers free validated parking.
