‘Go Make a Difference’ composer here for Advent mission, concert

11/01/2018 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Steve Angrisano

The music ministry of Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Honolulu, and pastor Father Khanh Pham-Nguyen, are sponsoring an Advent mission and concert with popular Catholic musician, songwriter and storyteller Steve Angrisano, 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, in the church at 800 Kaheka Street.

The event is called “Rejoice! With hearts full of joyful hope.” Dec. 15 is the vigil for Gaudete (Rejoice) Sunday.

Angrisano will also present a free Advent mission retreat at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, for music and liturgical ministers. Donations are welcome. Refreshments will be served after the retreat.

Angrisano is the composer of many liturgical hymns including “Many and One,” “Psalm 63: My Soul is Thirsting,” “A Rightful Place” and “Go Make a Difference.”

More information about Steve Angrisano can also be found on his website www.steveangrisano.com. His Facebook page is www.facebook.com/steveangrisanomusic. He is on Instagram at www.instagram.com/steveangrisano. His Twitter account is twitter.com/steveangrisano.

Members of the Sts. Peter and Paul music ministry saw Angrisano perform last September at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Pearl City and were so inspired by his music and ministry that they invited him back to the islands for Advent. The musician is usually booked two years in advance so they considered themselves “very blessed” when he accepted their invitation.

Tickets for the Dec. 15 event, available for a $10 donation, are going fast. Seating is limited to about 350 people. Parking is limited too, so carpooling is strongly recommended.

The parish music ministry has created a website with information about the Advent mission and concert and a link to the online ticket reservation form: sites.google.com/view/stspeterandpauladvent2018/home.
