Photo: Donation for life

09/19/2018 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

The Knights of Columbus Council #13227 in Kona, with support from Supreme Headquarters, a private trust fund and local donors, on Aug. 28 donated $25,600 for the purchase of a second ultrasound machine for the Pregnancy Center in Kailua-Kona. The machine will enable the medical team at the center to peer into the miracle of the womb with extraordinary clarity. “With these moving images of the pre-born, the bond between mother, father and baby is expressed and the value of life is visually realized,” said the Knights in their announcement. This is the second such donation by the Kona Knights. In 2013 they donated $25,000 for the pregnancy center’s first portable ultrasound machine. The Pregnancy Center, which has served the Kailua-Kona community for 26 years, says it is incredibly thankful to Council #13227 for standing beside its mission to be a light of hope and healing on the Big Island.
