The inaugural Oahu Catholic Men’s Conference has been rescheduled to Sept. 8. The conference, themed “Fidei Defensor” or “Defender of the Faith,” was originally set for Aug. 25 but was postponed as Hurricane Lane approached the Hawaiian Islands.
Still set to appear on the new date is keynote speaker Doug Barry, host of EWTN’s show “Battle Ready.” Local pro-life activist and film producer Jason Jones replaces Dallas Carter as the other event headliner.
The conference will also include Mass, confession, food, fellowship and ministry booths. Conference organizer Jared Zick hopes to expand the event beyond Oahu in coming years.
Open to men of all ages, the Sept. 8 conference is from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the community hall at Catholic Charities Hawaii’s Clarence T.C. Ching Campus at 1822 Keeaumoku St., Honolulu. The cost is $27.86, which includes the cost of food.
