Photo: Having a field day

08/08/2018 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Cathy Galvez, winner of the “rock paper scissor” game at the Oahu Council of Filipino Catholic Clubs annual field day July 15 at the NAVFAC Ball Field, is congratulated by Amy Jodar and Ben Cabreros. The event for the Oahu council, which represents 10 parish clubs, included an outdoor Mass, a potluck meal and lots of fun games, including “rock paper scissors,” a hilarious physical game of elimination; Bible trivia; a water game; a blindfolded animal sound group competition; and a raffle. The objective of the field day is for the membership to get together and get to know each other with no discussion of business. The outdoor Mass adds a feeling of spiritual growth as one big family. It was a pleasant and joyful day, according to organizers. (Photo courtesy of Pacita Baron)
