St. John Vianney School’s hula halau is hosting a concert of top island entertainment next month to raise money to go to Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., to perform at the Fantasyland Theater.

Halau ‘Ka Pa Hula O Ka Lei Hulu Hiwa, a keiki hula halau comprised of 30 students from the Catholic school in Kaelepulu (Enchanted Lake), Kailua, is scheduled to perform at Disneyland on Oct. 10.

The fundraiser, 3-7 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Republik nightclub at 1349 Kapiolani Blvd., will feature the halau as well as Na Hoku Hanohano winner Ken Makuakane, and musical groups Kamahoi, Hawaiian Soul and multi-Hoku recipient Kapena.

The theme of the fundraiser is “Na Keiki Aloha” — “The Beloved Children.”

Tickets for adults are $25 pre-sale and $30 at the door; for children 5-10, $10 pre-sale and $15 at the door.

The event will also serve pupus, and feature a raffle and silent auction with lots of products from local merchants.
