Jayne Mondoy, director of the diocesan Office of Religious Education and Faith Formation, was elected vice-president of the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership at the organization’s annual conference May 31 in Chicago. Her term is for three years.
Mondoy ends a three-year term as the organization’s treasurer.
Mondoy has been an active participant with the organization, writing one book in a series on catechetical leadership, developing online training for catechists, and being a member of groups advising the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in the areas of evangelization, catechesis and cultural diversity.
According to its website, the purpose of the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership is to help members “achieve competence as leaders in the ministries of evangelization and catechesis within the teaching mission of the multi-cultural Catholic Church in the United States.”
Mondoy called the organization her “primary source for professional development and information.”
