Marianist Father Raymond E. Malley, who served for many years in Hawaii as a teacher, school chaplain and pastor, is celebrating his 50th anniversary of ordination at the Marianist Center in Cupertino, Calif.
The San Francisco native, made his first profession in the Society of Mary, also known as Marianists, on Aug. 15, 1959, in Santa Cruz, Calif. He was ordained on May 25, 1968, in San Francisco.
Father Malley’s past ministries include assignments as a high school teacher and chaplain in San Francisco and at Saint Louis High School in Honolulu; administrative roles including assistant principal and principal in high schools in California and Washington; and parish administrator and community director in Walla Walla, Washington.
In Hawaii he was an instructor and NCAA representative for the athletic department at Chaminade University in Honolulu; pastor of St. Anthony Parish in Wailuku, and vicar forane for the parishes of Maui County.
His present ministry is assisting with liturgy and housekeeping tasks at the Marianist Center in Cupertino.
