Announcements/Appointments

  • LOSS OF THE CLERICAL STATE AND DISPENSATION FROM CELIBACY: Bishop Silva hereby notifies all that ROBERT W. SCHWARZHAUPT, ordained as a priest of the Diocese of Honolulu, has petitioned for and received a rescript of laicization, including a dispensation from clerical celibacy, granted by Pope Francis on January 10, 2018. Mr. Schwarzhaupt remains a full member of the Catholic Church, but he may no longer function as a cleric or perform any priestly ministries.
  • Bishop Silva has appointed Faith Leasiolagi as the Youth & Young Adult Representative of the Diocesan Pastoral Council, effective immediately to June 30, 2019.
