Local celebrities will be flipping pancakes at St. John Vianney Parish in Kailua at its school’s eighth annual Breakfast with the Bishop, Sunday, Jan. 28.
A delicious breakfast buffet will be served at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon in the parish hall at 920 Keolu Drive. The event is a fundraiser for the school’s new Welcome Grant Program, to help build a new two-classroom kindergarten building to replace the old, “inadequate” one.
Generous donations to this annual event in the past have helped renovate school’s facilities.
Bishop Larry Silva will attend all three breakfasts and speak on the importance of a Catholic education. The pastor Father Peter Miti and principal Caryn DeMello will be on hand to greet and thank everyone for their support of the school.
Entertainment will be provided by the school’s hula halau under the direction of Jack McKeaque, and the young musicians in the school’s music department under the direction of Julia Golding.
The meal will be prepared by the school’s professional chefs and served by teachers, parents and students.
For more information or to make a donation, contact St. John Vianney School at 261-4651. Tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for students 15 and younger and will be available until Friday, Jan. 27.
