Spend a day in the valley examining Lectio Divina

12/28/2017 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Anyone 18 and older who wishes to deepen his or her faith life through Scripture and prayer is invited to a five-hour day of reflection examining the “Lectio Divina,” 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Jan. 20 in the Rose Hill Building at the St. Anthony Retreat Center, 3351 Kalihi Street in Honolulu’s Kalihi Valley.

Lectio Divina, or “Divine Reading,” is an ancient Benedictine practice of reading, meditating on and praying the Scriptures.

The day, under the theme “The Word Became Flesh,” will be directed by Sacred Hearts Sister Marie Lemert and Malulani Kamanu. Participants are asked to bring their Bibles.

Lunch will be provided. A free will offering will be collected. Registration is required by Jan. 16. Call 845-0065.
