  • January 3, 6:15 pm, Holy Hour for Vocations, Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa, Kalihi.
  • January 4, 10:00 am, Presbyteral Council, Kamiano Center, downtown Honolulu; 1:00 pm, Clergy Personnel Board, Kamiano Center; 2:00 pm, College of Consultors, Kamiano Center.
  • January 6, Diocesan Pastoral Council, St. Stephen Diocesan Center, Kaneohe.
  • January 8-12, Annual Retreat for Priests, St. Stephen Diocesan Center.

Announcements/Appointments

  • Bishop Silva has appointed Reverend Peter Miti as Vicar Forane of Windward Oahu, effective January 1, 2018, to finish the term of Reverend Herman Gomes, SS.CC., who was elected Provincial of the U.S. Congregation of the Sacred Hearts. He also appointed Reverend Miti as a member of the College of Consultors, effective January 1, 2018 through June 30, 2022.
  • Reverend Roland Bunda, S.M. will be an elected member of the Presbyteral Council, effective January 1, 2018 to June 30, 2018, to fill the seat vacated by Reverend Peter Miti with his appointment as Vicar Forane.
  • Bishop Silva has appointed Reverend Siegfred Dosdos as Parochial Vicar of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Honolulu, effective January 1, 2018.
  • Bishop Silva announces the retirement of Reverend Scott Bush, until now the Parochial Vicar of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Honolulu, effective January 1, 2018.
  • The diocesan offices will be closed on December 29, 2017 and January 1, 2018 in observance of the New Year.
