Blessed Sacrament Church on Pauoa Road in Honolulu invites everyone to an evening of Divine Mercy reflection, 5-9 p.m., Oct. 25, featuring guest speaker Father Chris Alar, a priest of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception, the religious community entrusted with spreading the message and devotion of Divine Mercy. Admission is free.
The theme of the evening is “So You Think You Can Follow Jesus?”
The world is in such turmoil that a Christian trying to follow Jesus may ask, “How do I follow Jesus during tough times?” and “How do I serve Jesus in times of trouble?” Father Alar will explain how the message of Divine Mercy helps a Christian grow as a genuine follower of Jesus Christ.
The event starts with Eucharistic Adoration at 5 p.m. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available at 5:30 p.m. while the rosary and Divine Mercy chaplet prayers are recited. At 6 p.m., Father Alar give his reflection.
Mass at 7 p.m. will be followed by veneration of a first class relic of St. Faustina, the Apostle and Secretary of Divine Mercy.
Refreshments and fellowship at the parish hall will complete the evening.

An expert in Divine Mercy, Father Alar has spoken at more than 100 parishes and conferences. He lives in the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Mass., where he serves as director of the Association of Marian Helpers.
