Vaughn G.A. Vasconcellos, chairman of Chaminade University’s board of regents, this month welcomed two newly-appointed regents and one returning regent to the board, which is the policy-making body of the university.
Newly appointed board members are Keiki-Pua S. Dancil, director of business strategy development for Hawaiian Electric Company, and Roy J. Panzarella, vice president of Pacific Operations for the Alakaina Foundation Family of Companies. Vasconcellos also welcomed Daniel D. Goo back to the board after a one-year hiatus.
All have three-year terms ending in April 2020.
The board of regents also approved term renewals for Lesley Brey, Daniel Colin, Lance Mizumoto, Violeta Arnobit, Dr. Laurie Tom and Shelley Wilson.
Current board officers include chairman Vasconcellos and Shelley Wilson as vice chair and secretary.
Regents continuing on the board are Jeanne Anderson, Ruth Ann Becker, Carolyn Berry Wilson, Marianist Brother William J. Campbell, Melissa Ching Benjamin, Jerry J. Correa Jr., Ismael Eustaquio, John D. Field Jr., Marianist Brother Robert Hoppe, Amy L. Jampel, Thomas M. Mengler, Ralph Mesick, Maile Meyer, Bennette E. MisalucEha, Marianist Brother Ronald Overman, Michael M. Rockers, Jean E. Rolles, Martha B. Smith, Michael B. Terry, Lawrence K.W. Tseu, Marianist Brother Edward A. Violett, Richard F. Wacker, Kathleen “Kitty” Wo, and Patrick K.S.L. Yim.
Ex-officio members include Gail Grabowsky, Marianist Brother Thomas Giardino, Michael F. Kerr, and Marianist Father Martin Solma. Lynn Babington will also become an ex-officio member when she begins as Chaminade president on Aug. 1.
Gary E. Liebl will continue as chair emeritus and Dr. Edison Miyawaki as regent emeritus.

Chaminade University’s board of regents announced the new board of governors slate for the fiscal year 2018, which included term renewals of Matt Howard, Ret. Gen. Frank Wiercinski and Jeanine Wiercinski, all for second three-year appointments ending in April 2020.
The Board of Governors advises the university’s president regarding strategic planning, academic programs and external relations.
Chaminade governors who continue as officers on the board are chairman Michael Kerr, vice chairman Anton Krucky, second vice chairwoman Sharon McPhee and secretary Blaine Rand Y. Lesnik.
Continuing members are Arnold M. Baptiste Jr., John C. Brogan, Margery S. Bronster, Sai Cheong Chui, Walter A. Dods Jr., Adelia C. Dung, Eddie Flores Jr., Ret. Col. Christine M. Gayagas, Robert S.
