Announcements/Appointments

  • Bishop Silva, as Chair of the Members of the Hawaii Catholic Community Foundation, has appointed Patrick Guzman as a Member of the Corporation to a three-year term, effective January 1, 2017.
  • The Members of the Hawaii Catholic Community Foundation have appointed A.J. Halagao as a Director to a three-year term, effective January 1, 2017.
  • Bishop Silva has appointed Deacon Avaletalia Hunkin to diaconal ministry at Immaculate Conception, Ewa, effective March 1, 2017.
  • Bishop Silva appointed Keith Yoshida as Member of the Diocesan Board of Education to a three-year term, effective July 1, 2017.
  • Bishop Silva appointed Reverend Edmundo N. Barut Jr. as Presbyteral Council Representative to the Diocesan Board of Education to a three-year term, effective July 1, 2017.
  • Bishop Larry Silva announces that Reverend Herman Leong, a priest retired from the Diocese of Oakland and living in Hawaii as of March 1, 2017, enjoys the priestly faculties of the Diocese of Honolulu and will make himself available for substitute ministry on Oahu.
  • The Holy Hour for Vocations scheduled for March 1 has been cancelled due to Ash Wednesday Services.
