Twenty-seven people participated in the Missionary Basic Christian Community (MBCC) Maui Encounter #104 spiritual retreat hosted by St. Ann Parish in Waihee Sept. 16-18 under the direction of spiritual leader Deacon Cornelio Pulido and his wife Linda.
They came from various Maui parishes not knowing one another, but left as a family. Most importantly, they got to know God better, deepen their love for him, and now are new disciples of Christ our Lord.
Giving heartfelt testimonies were speakers Deacon and Linda Pulido, Deacon Kenneth Bissen Jr., Father Dionisio Delota of St. Ann, La Salette Father Rizal Acosta who was visiting from the Philippines, Jo Reyes, Carol Ursua, Nelia Altura, Angie Saiki, Nina Balasan and Danilo Tapat.
Assisting in the encounter were Angie Saiki with Nelia Altura. Providing music were Sammy Melchor, Ramon Garcia, and Dionisio Altura. The volunteer kitchen crew was headed by Carmelita Madriaga and Celia Owen.
Attending the retreat were Pilar Agcaoili, Saturnina Alonzo, Marietta Baldos, Emmanuel Baltazar, Helenita Bumanglag, Dionie Cabias, Joann Cachola, Juliet Calpo, Rosita Colobong, Rosalinda Dacanay, Elena DeGuzman, Wilma Dumangeng, Sylvia Garcia, Joybelle Gumtang, Josephine Harris, Avelina Hermano, Charlene and Molden Ionis, Anita Manuel, Joy Ollero, Carmelita Patrocinio, Ann Salek, Susan Tasani, George and Pauline Ulicny, Esperanza Tavares, and Marilyn Villon.
