The diocesan Respect Life Office encouraged Island Catholics to participate in a statewide rally Oct. 25 as part of the annual “40 Days for Life” campaign. That evening on Oahu, about 50 people gathered in front of the Planned Parenthood clinic in Honolulu with signs, prayers and spoken testimonies. October is Respect Life month, and the 40 Days for Life campaign aims to draw attention to ending abortion through prayer and fasting, community outreach and peaceful vigils.
