Theme for Catechetical Sunday is ‘The Faith Prayed’

09/08/2016 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

The diocese will celebrate Catechetical Sunday this year on Sept. 18. The theme is “Prayer: The Faith Prayed.” Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity to reflect on the role each person — the parent, in particular — plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel.

It is also an opportunity for all to renew their prayer life and rededicate themselves to this mission as a community of faith.

Hawaii has hundreds of volunteer parish catechetical leaders who are designated and commissioned by their pastors to serve as catechists to approximately 6,500 children and youth, along with their families.
