Letters to the Herald: Aug. 26, 2016

08/24/2016 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Mahalo, Kathleen

For many years, I have been a faithful follower of Mrs. Choi’s column in the Hawaii Catholic Herald.

Her views on the many issues facing our country today are like my own. I want her to know that I have enjoyed reading about her personal experiences, many of which I can relate to.

Thank you, Kathleen, and may our Good Lord bless you and your wonderful family with all the happiness you so well deserve. Love and peace,

Marie Ceballos
Kekaha, Kauai

More confused than ever

The “No change seen in direction priests face during Mass” article in the July 29 Hawaii Catholic Herald was confusing at best.

For example, what is the difference between extraordinary form and ordinary form in the liturgy? What does reform of the reform mean?

Later the writer states that liturgical law is bound to shift but doubts anything will happen.

Perhaps (there will be) more encouragement of ad orientem Masses in the future said a spokesperson.

After reading that article, I’m more confused than ever.

The Church needs to concentrate on the real needs of its members and not waste time on the above. If it does not, the exodus will continue.
