Get your Fat Tuesday malassadas at Damien or St. Joseph, Maui

01/28/2016 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Fat Tuesday malassadas will be available at a couple of schools this year, one on Oahu and one on Maui.

The presale deadline is Feb. 1 for the very popular Damien Memorial School’s malassadas sale. The cost is $6 for a half dozen, $12 for a dozen.

The pickup date is Feb. 9, from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., in the Damien parking lot.

Ninety percent of sales last year were presale orders. So order early to make sure to get a bag. Call 841-0195. All proceeds go to the music building capital campaign.

Feb. 1 is also the presale deadline for the St. Joseph Church and Early Learning Center malassadas sale Feb. 9 in Makawao, Maui. Presale orders are $10 per dozen.

Tickets are limited by pickup times: 6 a.m., 7 a.m., 8 a.m., 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. They are on sale at the St. Joseph Church Office, Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., or may be purchased by mail by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check made payable to St. Joseph Church, 1294 Makawao Avenue, Makawao, HI 96768, for the total amount. Call the parish at 572-7652 for information.

The funds raised will be used to replace the current termite-ridden, dry rot-damaged gym facilities with a new multi-purpose center.
