St. Francis Hospice Bereavement Services is inviting the public to honor the memories of St. Francis Hospice patients and others at an inter-faith service, 7 p.m., Nov. 7, at the University of Hawaii’s Newman Center in Manoa.
The event, “A Rose for Remembrance,” will remember the deceased by dedicating roses in their memory. Participants may bring photos of their loved ones to share.
The service commemorates National Hospice and Palliative Care Month.
The ceremony will include music by Skylark, and presentations by Catholic chaplain Hyun Underwood; Dr. Kahu Kaleo Patterson, president and chief executive officer of Pacific Justice and Reconciliation Center; and Rev. Irene Matsumoto, minister at Palolo Kwannon Temple.
The event is free. Parking at the St. Francis School or University of Hawaii campus is $6. For more information, contact Wesley Taira, bereavement social worker at St. Francis Hospice, at wtaira@stfrancishawaii.org or 547-8129.
