Manaolana | Lisa Gomes: Why sacraments? Isn’t faith in Jesus enough?

08/28/2015 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

YOUCAT*: We can and should come to God with all our senses, not just with our intellect. That is why God gives himself to us in earthly signs — especially in bread and wine, the Body and Blood of Christ. [CCC 1084, 1146-1152]

It’s important that we have faith. No doubt about that. But, at least for me, the sacraments are great reminders of the sacrifice of Christ and the love that he has for me — for us. God gives us these free, unmerited gifts and, through them, we are able to see, hear and touch Jesus as his apostles did.
