Calendar briefs: Aug. 28, 2015

08/28/2015 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Meeting topic: Women facing a demanding world

How do women seek contentment in a world that is always demanding so much from them?

The Women’s Faith Sharing Group will examine that question at a free evening of reflection, 6-9 p.m., Sept. 4, in Damien House at the St. Anthony Retreat Center, 3351 Kalihi Street in Honolulu.

The event is sponsored by St. Anthony Retreat Center. Light refreshments will be provided.

The evening will address the daunting demands on women’s careers, family life and other responsibilities by first seeking God, in whom true contentment and peaceful acceptance can be attained.

To register, call 845-0065. Bring your Bible and a notebook.

School golf tourney raises money for scholarships

The Our Lady of Good Counsel School, Pearl City, second annual golf tournament, Sept. 25, at the Hawaii Prince Golf Club in Ewa begins with 9:30 a.m. registration and a 11:30 a.m. shotgun start.

The tournament raises funds for scholarships.

The event will award prizes for closest to the pin, greenies, putting contests, and more. A hole-in-one can win $10,000.

The $500 charge for a team of three players covers entry, green and cart fees, entry to all contests, lunch, and the awards banquet dinner. All efforts will be made to accommodate singles and doubles by finding others to complete their team.

For more information, contact principal Cindy Olaso at 455-4533, or email questions to info@olgchawaii.org.
