International speaker, musician and family therapist Paul J. Kim returns to St. John Apostle and Evangelist Church in Mililani this month for four evenings of presentations, July 22-25.
At 7 p.m., July 22, Kim will give a presentation and prayer experience called “Renew the Ohana, Starting with Me.” He will share a message of hope and renewal made possible with God’s grace for people facing unresolved problems in their lives, families, and communities.
At 7 p.m., July 23, Kim’s topic is “Don’t Apologize for Being Catholic.” This presentation addresses the beauty, richness and power of the Catholic identity of God’s followers called to be his witnesses to the ends of the earth.
At 7 p.m., July 24, in a presentation for parents only, Kim will share his experiences as a marriage and family therapist, a youth speaker and a married father of one in a talk called “Parenting from the Inside Out.” He will address effective communication, conflict resolution, fostering love, forgiveness and trust, and living out the faith.
Kim uses examples and stories from Scripture, Catholic tradition, pop-culture and his own experience counseling families. This is the second time he has come to St. John Parish.
Each presentation on July 22, 23 and 24 is preceded by a praise and worship session with the parish’s Faithlife Band.
The events on July 25 — a potluck after the 5 p.m. Mass and a talent show at 7 p.m. — is being promoted with the phrase, “Hang out with Paul J. Kim — a chill evening with food and entertainment!”
Those who would like to sign up for the talent show may contact Deacon Wally Mitsui at 341- 3299, wmitsui@rrchawaii.org.
