All are invited to celebrate with Bishop Silva

07/16/2015 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

All are invited to the Mass and reception Tuesday evening, July 21, at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa celebrating Bishop Larry Silva’s 10th anniversary as Bishop of Honolulu.

The Mass starts at 6 p.m. A catered buffet dinner and entertainment will follow in the parish hall.

Bishop Silva was a priest and vicar general of the Diocese of Oakland, California, 10 years ago when Pope Benedict XVI selected him to be Hawaii’s fifth diocesan bishop. He was ordained a bishop and installed as head shepherd of the Honolulu diocese on July 21, 2005, in a public liturgy in the Neal Blaisdell arena.

This commemorative issue of the Hawaii Catholic Herald celebrates Bishop Silva’s first 10 years.
