1vilacComposer Joe Camacho dances the hula at the annual Valley Isle Liturgy and Arts Conference (VILAC) at St. Anthony Parish and School in Wailuku March 20-21. Other presenters included composers Marty Haugen and Tony Alonso, accompanied by Joe Farias, Paulette Ching, and Faith Leasiolagi. Sissy Lake-Farm and Toni Bissen demonstrated the art of the hula. The program opened with a prayer service, followed by a two-hour concert featuring the music of Haugen and Alonso. A second concert on Saturday highlighted Camacho’s Hawaiian music.
