Daughters of Isabella to form group here

03/13/2015 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

The Daughters of Isabella, one of largest Catholic women organizations in the United States, will form a circle, or local branch, in Hawaii. A 6:30 p.m. meeting, April 13, in Sacred Heart Church’s Bachelot Hall, 1707 Wilder Avenue, Honolulu, will introduce the organization to anyone, ages 16 and older, who wants to join.

The Daughters of Isabella is a spiritual and charitable organization that helps churches and charities through volunteer services and contributions in the areas of respect for life, vocations, the missions, scholarships for youth, aid to the needy, visiting the sick and elderly, and breast cancer awareness.

The organization was founded 117 years ago as an auxiliary to the Knights of Columbus. Today it operates separately from the Knights. To learn more about the Daughters or how to join the new Hawaii circle, contact Melba Amaral at 294-9634 or melbahawaii@gmail.com.
