Youth, Young Adult office hosting leadership days

02/13/2015 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

The diocesan Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry is hosting, this month and next, four full-day Island Leadership Retreats on four islands for people who work with youth and young adults.

The goal of the retreats is to identify personal strengths that can enhance one’s ministry. Retreatants will reflect on their unique God-given talents and how they can be employed in the work of ministry to young people.

Before the retreat, participants will be asked to take an “assessment” that will produce a report on their gifts and talents.

The cost is $20 per person which covers the assessment, plus retreat meals and refreshments. Participants will receive instruction on how to take the assessment after their registration payment has been received by the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry.

Here is the schedule of retreats:

  • Kauai Island Leadership Retreat, Feb. 28, 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m., St. Raphael Parish, Koloa
  • Big Island Leadership Retreat, March 7, 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Annunciation Parish, Waimea
  • Oahu Island Leadership Retreat, March 28, 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m., St. Stephen Diocesan Center
  • Maui Island Leadership Retreat, March 28, 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m., Wailuku Heights, 588 Kulaiwi Drive, Wailuku

The registration deadline is 5 p.m., Feb. 20. Mail check to Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, 6301 Pali Highway, Kaneohe, HI 96744. For information, call 203-6762.
