Announcements/Appointments
- Very Reverend Rosanno Soriano, M.S., Provincial of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette – Ina Ng Pag-asa Province, Philippines, has proposed Reverend Antonio Abuan, M.S. as Pastor of Holy Cross, Kalaheo, Kauai, effective January 9, 2015. Bishop Silva has confirmed this appointment.
- Bishop Silva announces the retirement of Deacon Ernest Libarios from diaconal ministry, effective February 15, 2015.
- Bishop Silva has reappointed Allan Deehr and Brandon Elefante to the Diocesan Stewardship & Development Commission for three-year terms, effective July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2018. Bishop Silva has also appointed Allan Deehr as Chair and Dale Webster as Vice-Chair of the Diocesan Stewardship & Development Commission, effective immediately.
- Bishop Silva has granted permission for the Daughters of Isabella to form circles and conduct its activities here in the Diocese of Honolulu effective January 28, 2015. The Daughters of Isabella is a charitable organization of Catholic women founded on the principles of its motto: Unity, Friendship and Charity.
- The following individuals have been appointed to the Diocesan Advisory Council for Youth and Young Adult Ministry for two-year terms, effective January 1, 2015 – December 31, 2016:
- Grace Benitez as representative of the West Honolulu Vicariate.
- Jeanette Castillo as representative of the East Hawaii Vicariate.
- The diocesan offices will be closed Monday, February 16, 2015 in observance of Presidents’ Day.
