The First Hawaiian Bank Foundation Gives last month presented St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii $100,000 for the transformation of its Liliha campus in Honolulu.
The grant, to be received over four years, will help St. Francis turn its Liliha campus into a health and wellness community for seniors and their caregivers. The funds are for the first phase of the project which includes turning the top three floors of one of the former hospital buildings into a skilled nursing facility.
The 50,000-square-feet 119-bed facility is scheduled to open in the spring. Its purpose is to help patients who need nursing care or therapy before returning home after a hospital stay.
The campus is already the site of several health providers including the Cancer Center of Hawaii, Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, Hawaii Endoscopy Center, Hawaii Diagnostic Radiology Services, Liberty Dialysis and Pharmacare. Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience, the state’s largest multidisciplinary neurology clinic providing aging, memory and brain health, is also scheduled to open this spring.
Future services at Liliha include a senior community center, adult day care, adult day health, an assisted living facility and an independent living community.
