Diocesan Filipino Catholic Clubs’ 64th annual convention on Kauai

09/26/2014 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

More than 200 delegates from across the state are expected to attend the 64th annual convention of the Diocesan Congress of Filipino Catholic Clubs, Nov. 14-16, at the Kauai Beach Resort Hotel. The theme of the event is “Go and bear witness to our faith.”

The convention will feature workshops and prayer services, plus recognition of the Father Ernest Claes Awardees for each Filipino Catholic Club island council. The DCFCC will also recognize its outstanding member with the congress’ highest honor — the Founder’s Award in memory of Msgr. Osmundo Calip who started the FCC movement in Hawaii 64 years ago.

Diocesan congress president Oscar Portugal will preside over the business sessions including the elections of new officers for the coming year.

The deadline to register for the convention is Oct. 28. Those interested in attending may contact any FCC unit in their parishes, or call 245-6566, or email DCFCC50@aol.com.
