Franciscans to celebrate Transitus, the passing of St. Francis of Assisi

09/12/2014 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

The Sisters of Saint Francis of the Neumann Communities are hosting their annual Transitus celebration on Friday, Oct. 3, at Saint Francis Convent, 2715 Pamoa Road, in Manoa Valley.

The Transitus commemorates the passage from death to eternal life of St. Francis of Assisi, celebrated worldwide by Franciscans on the eve of their patron’s feast day.

Franciscan religious, secular order members and associates, as well as all who embrace the spirit of St. Francis are invited to attend any or all of the following events: Mass at 5 p.m. followed by a simple meal and the Transitus prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

Please RSVP to Sister Francis Regis Hadano at 988-4432 or fregis@stfrancis-oahu.org by Sept. 26.
