The Hawaii Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services 36th annual Hawaii Regional Charismatic Conference, Aug. 8-10 at the Catholic Charities Hawaii campus in Makiki, will feature praise and worship, fellowship and inspiring presenters, including the popular Franciscan author, teacher and speaker Father Dave Pivonka.
The Mass celebrants are Father Gary Secor on Saturday morning and Bishop Larry Silva on Sunday afternoon. The praise and worship leader for the weekend is Frank Chargualaf.
Father Pivonka is the director of Franciscan Pathways, an evangelistic preaching outreach of his Franciscan Community.
He has given presentations at youth conferences from San Diego to Nova Scotia. His books include “Spiritual Freedom: God’s Life Changing Gift” and “Hiking the Camino: 500 Miles with Jesus.”
He was also the director of Seminary Formation for his Franciscan Community in Washington, D.C.
Father Pivonka’s topics for the Hawaii conference include “The Encounter,” “The Power of the Cross,” “The Power of Mercy,” “New Pentecost for the New Evangelization” and “Healing and Power.”
The conference will offer books, media, music, movies, religious gifts and conference T-shirts at booths sponsored by the Daughters of St. Paul and Hawaii Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services.
