  • July 12-14, Pilgrimage to Topside Molokai and Kalaupapa with seminarians of the Diocese.
  • July 13, 9:00 am, Confirmation Mass for St. Damien of Molokai Church, Kaunakakai.
  • July 15, 9:30 am, Bishop’s Administrative Advisory Council, Chancery, downtown Honolulu; 6:00 pm, Vigil for the Deceased for Msgr. Alan Nagai, Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace, downtown Honolulu [Fr. Gary Secor]
  • July 16, 10:00 am, Funeral Mass for Msgr. Alan Nagai, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Pearl City.

Announcements/Appointments

  • Bishop Silva has appointed Reverend German Somera as Administrator of Immaculate Conception Parish, Lihue, effective July 1, 2014.
  • Bishop Silva has appointed Reverend William Shannon as the Director of Seminarians of the Diocese of Honolulu, effective July 1, 2014.
  • Bishop Silva has appointed Deacon Jim Dougherty, Ph.D., a deacon of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, who now lives on the island of Hawaii, to diaconal ministry at St. Theresa Parish, Mountain View, effective July 1, 2014.
  • Bishop Larry Silva announces that Father Arnold Ortiz, formerly a member of the Oblates of St. Joseph, was incardinated as a priest of the Diocese of Honolulu on June 12, 2014. His status changed from Administrator to Pastor of St. Elizabeth Church, Aiea, effective July 1, 2014.
