Fall golf tournament to benefit multiple charities

07/04/2014 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Get ready to “tee up” for a good cause this fall. The TGFG — “Thank God for Golf” — club will be hosting its first-ever Charity Golf Tournament Oct. 17 at Coral Creek Golf Course in Ewa Beach.

The TGFG club began in 2008 with a group of golf aficionados from St. Jude Catholic Church who gathered together for fellowship and fundraising on the links. The club has since grown to include more than 30 members and is headed by several officers who organize events to raise money for parishes, schools and charitable organizations.

The Oct. 17 Charity Golf Tournament aims to benefit the Honolulu Community Action Program, Honolulu Diocese Clergy Pension Fund, Our Lady of Good Counsel School and the U.S. VETS Veterans Initiative Program at Barber’s Point.

Players of all skill levels and ages are welcome to sign up. Three-person teams will compete on the course; cost to participate is $160 per person or $480 per team. The cost covers golf fees, cart rental, lunch, refreshments, dinner with beverage and desserts, and a goody bag.

The tournament will also feature cash prizes, door prizes and live entertainment. Cutter Buick GMC of Waipahu will sponsor a 2014 Buick Encore as hole-in-one prize.

TGFG is a nonprofit charity organization. Donations are tax deductable.

For more information, or to register for the tournament, contact Ed Campos at 286-5121 or Genara Buza-Campos at 927-4774, or email tgfg@hawaii.rr.com.
