04/11/2014 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

The St. Joseph Church and Early Learning Center in Makawao, Maui, annual weekend-long St. Joseph Feast, May 2-4, will feature a huge array of food, a ton of entertainment, a bunch of auctions, plus contests, games, bouncers, crafts, a country store, plants, produce, flowers and more.

The dates and times are: Friday, May 2, 6-10 p.m.; Saturday, May 3, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sunday, May 4, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The food includes malassadas, Portuguese soup, waffle dogs, chow fun, nachos, barbeque teriyaki, hamburgers and lots of sweets and treats.

Live auctions on Friday and Saturday evenings will offer golfing, dinner and hotel certificates and other activities and goods donated by businesses throughout the state. Sunday afternoon will feature the traditional livestock auction.

The long entertainment roster features Gomega, Marty Dread, Homestead, Rising Strong, Larry Golis, Sheron DePonte, Keaka Sardine, Mikey Mina, Paiva Brothers and Louis Kukaua, Maui Taiko Drummers and, for the kids, special appearances from Sponge Bob, Hello Kitty, Elmo and Cookie Monster.

Feast organizers are looking for more donations, crafters and entertainment. Call Donna Pico at 572-7652. Scrip are on sale at the parish office.
