Makawao parish selling malassadas to build multi-purpose center

02/14/2014 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Makawao’s St. Joseph Church needs a multi-purpose center to replace its run-down gym and is holding a malassadas sale, March 4, to raise money for it.

Presale tickets are $8 a dozen and are available at the St. Joseph Church office, Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. or by sending a check payable to St. Joseph Church, 1294 Makawao Avenue, Makawao, HI 96768 by Feb. 21.

If you are mailing in your order, please indicate what time on the morning of March 4 you will be able to pick up the tasty treats: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 a.m. Also, to receive your tickets by mail, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your check.

The old gym is in sad shape. It is infested with termites and dry rot, the electrical and plumbing systems are outdated and the facility is not accessible for persons with disabilities. So any kind of help would be welcome.
