Photo: Cheering their own

11/08/2013 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Students at St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School received special permission to watch the first game of the World Series Oct. 28 in the school library because the school’s famous graduate, Shane Victorino, was playing. Earlier, the students, dressed in the red and white colors of his team, the Boston Red Sox, gathered in the science quad for a picnic lunch and to perform a rendition of one of Victorino’s favorite songs, “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley. By the series’ end, Victorino, who graduated from St. Anthony in 1999, true to his name, was on the victorious team. (Photo courtesy of Janice Pruett)
