Announcements/Appointments

  • The diocesan offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2013 in observance of Veterans’ Day.
  • Bishop Silva has appointed Rev. Wilson Buitrago as Chaplain of the Maui Hispanic Community, effective November 19, 2013.
  • Bishop Silva has appointed Rev. Stephen Macedo to the Diocesan Liturgical Commission for a three-year term, effective November 1, 2013 through October 31, 2016.
  • Bishop Silva announces the incardination into the Diocese of Honolulu for Rev. Michael Sawyer, OSB (on October 1, 2013) and Rev. David M. Barfknecht, OSB (on October 2, 2013). This action is in conjunction with the recent change in canonical status of the Monastery of Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit in Waialua from an Olivetan Benedictine monastery to a public association of the faithful of diocesan right. Both Rev. Sawyer and Rev. Barfknecht are assigned to the Monastery in perpetual affiliation.
