Saint Louis School has received six-year accreditations from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS), and the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) effective through June 30, 2019.
WASC is one of six regional accrediting associations in the United States. HAIS is a local organization that advocates on behalf of private schools in Hawaii. WCEA is an accrediting agency established by the bishops of California.
Accreditation assures colleges and universities that graduating students have mastered a particular body of knowledge. It also states that schools can be trusted to provide high quality learning opportunities.
“I am ecstatic that our school earned the maximum six-year WASC, HAIS and WCEA accreditation term,” said school president Walter Kirimitsu.
He said the triple accreditation shows that the school is “doing things right.”
He commended the school board, the alumni association, the principal, administration, faculty, staff and families for the accomplishment.
“It was a total team effort,” Kirimitsu said.
