Monthly Ohana Mass for families of children ‘with special needs’

The diocesan Ministry for Persons with Disabilities will celebrate its second monthly Ohana Mass for families of children “with special needs,” at 1 p.m., June 30 at Holy Trinity Church in Kuliouou.

The ministry identifies those with special needs as having autism, Down syndrome or any other cognitive disability. The liturgy will be adapted for those with these disabilities and their families.

Blessed Sacrament Father Francisco De Los Reyes, pastor of Star of the Sea Parish in Kahala will be the main celebrant.

The Mass will be followed by a potluck. Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to Iwie Tamashiro at itamashiro@rcchawaii.org or at 203-6702 so that meal plans can be made.

The Ministry for Persons with Disabilities with is part of the Office for Social Ministry hopes to have an Ohana Mass every month. The first was on May 19 at Holy Trinity.
